My Happy Place

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

Do you enjoy reading? I do especially in the evenings, especially Tom Clancy and Dan Brown books.

This image from Elisabeth Bell is one of my favourite.

Step by Step

2. Matted and layered patterned paper from Linda Simpson Designs and book script paper.
3. Wrapped brown lace around one of the layers before adhering both layers to base card.
4. Matted and layered image onto burgundy card.
5. To finish off added the butterflies and the sentiment which reads "This is my Happy Place"

Steampunk Fayre - A Splendid Day Out

Good Evening Crafty Friends,

As promised here is my post regarding my trip to Morecambe on Sunday to "A splendid day out" Steampunk Fayre.

Both Rick and I had a fabulous day out and I would advice you to pull up a chair and enjoy as there are plenty of photographs.

First up are a couple of photographs of myself in my Steampunk outfit, the hat I decorated myself but is not shown very well in the photographs.  I have done a video on this and if you wish to watch then click the LINK.

These two were taken with the Midland hotel in the background, the inside of this hotel is fabulous!

This is the platform where the Steampunk fayre is held, a beautiful old building built by the Midland Railway Company as the terminus of the former "little" North Western Railway, Morecambe Promenade Station first opened to passengers in 1907. The Promenade station was built to cater for a large influx of passengers.

Of course I had to visit with Mike doesn't he look brilliant dress up too!

This is Ian who creates the most amazing machines that work with flashing lights and moving parts.
Check out his website Verne Industries.

It is such a shame about these photographs not turning out as well as I wanted but with the lighting reflecting off the camera I couldn't get as good a picture but this lady called Margaret Hesketh had the most fabulous steampunk inspired pieces.  Do check out her shop over on Etsy.

Another lady I met Lisa had this amazing stand which specialises in steampunk and alternative clothing.  The pith helmets are amazing as are their hats too!  If you fancy a nosy at their website P n P Alternative then please visit.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my day in Morecambe!

Thank you for visiting!

Stamps by Me Samples

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

I hope you all having a good week so far

Today Toni from Stamps by Me is on Create and Craft!
Toni will be on at 1.00 pm and 5.00 pm

She has some fabulous new stamps and dies to share with you all!
These dies are fabulous and the stamps well all I can say is WOW!

On this card I have stenciled the tree, stamped the silhouettes, sentiment and birds with Archival black ink. The fence is from the old fence die set, embossed with wood grain embossing folder and then distressed with vintage photo.

For this card I have used Distress Oxides for the background, stamped the sentiment and silhouettes with Archival ink and added clusters of sequins.

Created the background using Distress Ink, stamped sentiment and silhouettes with Archival and then added splats.  To finish off I added 3 gems.

The background on the was created using blues and browns Distress Oxides.
I then stamped the sentiment, birds and wild flowers with Archival Sepia ink.

This was quite a quick but effective card.
First I masked off the base card and added distress oxides to 3 stripes.
Die cut the tall flowers and adhered over the stripes. I then stamped the sentiment and added 3 sequins.

I hope you enjoy the shows and enjoy seeing all the samples that the DT have created.
I think we all went a bit overboard as we couldn't stop working with them.

Thank you for visiting today.

Stamps by Me New Release

Good Morning Crafty Friends

I hope you are all well.

Today I would like to share with you some samples for the new dies and stamps by Toni over at Stamps by Me.

Toni will be on Create and Craft tomorrow at 11am and 5 pm.
I hope that you enjoy the new dies and stamps as much as I have.

This card shows the fabulous large Leaf die.

For this card I have cut both parts of the die separately and using the new stamps set inside the large leaf. I then stamped the sentiment.

This is a landscape Z Card using the dies from the Natural Elements die set and used one of the new sentiments from the stamps.

As you know I love butterflies and this is one large butterfly die.
I cut out two of the butterflies and matted and layered onto shaving foam background.
Die cut the inside of the butterfly and stamped some of the new silhouettes and sentiment.

Enjoy the shows!

Happy Crafting and thank you for visiting!

Digi Doodle Studios - Christmas Grace

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Rick and I had a great day yesterday in Morecambe, we got stuck in traffic coming home on the M6 but it was an enjoyable day and great to meet up with Mike and Ian!

Today I am sharing my DT project for Digi Doodle Studios using the wonderful Christmas Grace.

I wanted a change to the normal traditional Christmas colours and have chosen my favourite colour combination of blue and brown.

Step by Step

1. To create my oval easel card I have die cut Christmas pearlescent card using SB Grande Scalloped Oval die.
2. Matted and layered blue Christmas pearlescent card and brown card which have all been cut out with a combination of SB Grande scalloped and oval dies.
3. Printed Grace out and coloured with Copics before die cutting.
4 To decorate the base of the card I have used flowers from Wild Orchid Craft and die cut some fern leaves in brown.
5. To finish off I die cut some holly, added blue gems, made a double bow and added a snowflake charm.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Christmas Card Challenge #23 - Anything Goes
Glitter n Sparkle - 261 - Anything Goes
International Art & Soul #19 - Not Square or Rectangle
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #68 - Anything Goes

Its a beautiful day...

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

Rick and I are off to Morecombe to the Steampunk show!

Looking forward to catching up with Mike and Ian.

Toni (Stamps by me) will be on Create and Craft on Wednesday at 1.00 pm and 5.00 pm with a new range of silhouette stamps and dies.

Here are a couple more of my samples.

For this card I created a soft background using distress ink broken china and evergreen bough.
Stamped the silhouettes with distress oxides in wilted violet, peacock feathers and worn lipstick.
The sun is fossilised amber, the sentiment and birds have been stamped using archival ink.

The background for this card has been created by using distress oxides, cracked pistachio, wilted violet and spiced marmalade onto watercolour card, I then spritzed some water for the mottled effect.
Stamped the wild flowers and sentiment with Archival ink.
